Install IE6 onto Ubuntu
Introduction :
For most might assume installing Microsoft Internet Explorer onto Ubuntu would be a breeze, think again. But luckly came along Sérgio Luís Lopes Júnior that create a script that takes of all the hassle that normally not for the faint of hearts.
Enviroment :
Ubuntu 7.10
Dependencies :
Wine
Cabextract
Installation / Usage :
1. Install Wine by following the guide here [LINK]
2. Install Cabextract
#sudo apt-get install cabextract
3. Download IEs 4 Linux and install
#wget http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/downloads/ies4linux-latest.tar.gz
4. Unpack the package into a folder
#tar zxvf ies4linux-latest.tar.gz
5. Go into the folder and just double-click the ‘ies4linux’ executable OR run it on a terminal
#./ies4linux
6. 3 version of Internet Explorer that can be installed

8. There were would be an icon created on the desktop
