Playing DOS games on Linux
Introduction :
If you are like me and played games when Windows haven’t been invented, then you’ll understand how I feel. I used to play Golden Axe will the 5′ floppy litterally melted in the drive 
Xenon 2 was also one of my favourites ! Thanks to DosBox I can still enjoy them
DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. DOSBox has already been ported to many different platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, MacOS X…
DOSBox also emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games…
Enviroment :
Ubuntu 7.10
Dependencies :
DosBox
Installation / Usage :
1. #sudo apt-get install dosbox ( I hit some issue with my repo list so I did it manually )
2. After install you start the DosBox by
#dosbox
3. A window will popup, you can follow the simple tour
4. You need to mount the folder or path as C: drive
# mount c ~/games
5. Then like any DOS prompts you can do DIR or CD
6. type the executable file name of your DOS game and press ENTER
