Identify the manufacturer of the network card by MAC Address
MAC address works on the Layer 2 of the OSI model. MAC stands for Media Access Control address and they are unique to each network card. They are also refer as burned-in address.
MAC address are 48-bit and six groups of two hexadecimal digits, separated by hyphens (-) or colons (:)
01-23-45-67-89-ab
01:23:45:67:89:ab
Under Windows OS, issue the “ipconfig /all“ and locate the “Physical Address” which is the MAC Address for the network card.
