Outlook Error – “A dialog box is open. Close it and try again.”

Introduction :
Encounter a weird problem after switching to a Vista machine, the Outlook after setting up unresponsive and the reminder comes but I was unable to dismiss it nor create new emails.

Enviroment : Microsoft Windows Vista?

Installation / Usage :
After trying out 2 solution, I found that the problem was actually the Name and Intial dialog box which were causing the problem. It didn’t display properly, so you would not able to create any other emails.

Name Intials

To fix it I create 2 entries under the Outlook registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\COMMON\USERINFO

New String Value – UserInitials YN
New String Value – UserName YourName
