Opening CHM file under Ubuntu

Introduction :
Transitioning from the Windows environment there is alot of application I honestly can’t live without. CHM viewer is one of them, without it alot of my ebooks would be useless. Lucky for me there are programmer that like CHM format as much as me :) Microsoft Compiled HTML Help is a proprietary format for on-line help files, developed by Microsoft.

Enviroment :
Ubuntu 7.04
kchmviewer 3.1.2

Installation / Usage :
To install kchmviewer just use the command :

sudo apt-get install kchmviewer

When I started up kchmviewer to test out one of my CHM file, I ran into this error :

An error occurred while loading ms-its:/home/file:/bookname.chm::/1587050773_main.html:
Could?not?read?file?ms-its:/home/file:/bookname.chm::/1587050773_main.html.

To rectify the issue, I went into the

kchmviewer > Settings > Change settings… > Version specific settings… > KDE version settings > To show HTML content, use > QTextBrowser-based widget > OK

This solve my problem and the ebook displayed properly :)
